My chocolate lab Zappa is around 80 lbs, he will be 10 months old next week. He's not fat in the least bit, he actually looks like a little body builder. Were any of your labs a comparable size at that age?
Without seeing him its hard to guesstimate. Were his parents large? What does the vet say?
My cousin has a black lab named Zappa, he's also a big boy!

My big boy Finn was 85 lbs when he was 6 months old. By 10 months he was 100 lbs.
My brother who is a keyboard player spent two weeks in June playing with "Zappa does Zappa" - cool music.
When you press lightly on his ribcage - can you feel ribs? If not - he is probably a little chunky. Does he have a noticible nip in at the waist when viewed from above? He should. If when viewed from above he has no waistline - looks like a sausage - he is probably chunky.
If you can feel ribs and he has a waist - you are probably fine. Many people think their lab is just powerfully built when they could really afford to drop a few pounds. They are better off on the thin side - much easier on the joints.

Lola my 10 month old female is 58 pounds
That's a muscley 75lb-er, is your Lab pup similar?
Moses, our 10-month old, is also 75-80 lbs. and solid.
Bauer weighed about 75 pounds at 10 months, and at 2.5 he weighs about 86 pounds.
