    Defaultbest buds no more?

Samantha has been growling at Charlie yesterday and this morning with no provocation. They are best buds. I don't know why she's growling at him. She growls whenever he is any where near her. They didn't even play bitie face yesterday or this morning.

Sam has had an ear infection and is on antibiotics. Has been for a week. Just yesterday, I also noticed that areas of her pads on her paw are lifting. Could it be discomfort? She hasn't growled at me or DH.

Is she in season, or coming in?

Maybe he's biting her head and her ear is hurting her.

I would wager its discomfort. Or maybe he's just to much of a pest and needs to be told off.

She´s probably uncomfortable with her ear and paw and just wants to be left alone. I wouldn´t worry. Females (especially humans ) are like that LOL

The paw thing has to be painful - even if the ear is healing. Can you crate her and give her a break from him?

Thanks for the great advice. Yesterday, DH and I took one dog each, and stayed in different rooms. Sam stayed in the bedroom with me and rested.

Thanks everyone! I hope she feels better and they can be best buds again soon. I shouldn't have, but this morning, I couldn't stop myself from busting out laughing. Charlie seems to sense when someone is in pain or sad. He tried to take Sam her favorite toy, he was dropping it in front of her, when she growled at him again. He jumps back, then looks at me like "WTH? Mom. I was trying to make her feel better". He had suck a sad look. Then he went to her crate and just sat in front of it, with a sad, hurt look. Big suck up! But he seems to really miss his *little sister*.
