My first post I have been lurking around for 3 years and have learned a lot. My Finn has ruptured his right ACL, we have been through one ACL (Left knee) surgery with him and now Friday we will be doing the other one. I am so sad and stressed thinking about it, worried about him.... I tell you ignorance is bliss, but now I know what we are up against. so if you could spare a couple of good thoughts for him, I would appreciate it. Thanks
Oh, I am sorry to hear of this! They say that once a dog blows out one knee the other follows eventually. I hope his recouperation is uneventful for you both.

Sending good thoughts for Finn.
Good thoughts your way!
Poor Finn....Poor you.....Sending lots of good thoughts your way.
I feel for you...my girl Java has had 2 ACL surgeries (TPLO). She had her right leg done on 3-25-10 and her left knee done 6-3-10. So she had them 10 weeks apart.
She is now 21 weeks post op on the right and 11 weeks post op on the left and doing great.
Hang in there...you'll get through it!!
It's easier the second time around because you know what to expect.
What procedure is Finn having?
Good thoughts heading your way to Finn from 2 orthodogs-Java and Moka (broken leg)!!
Good thoughts for Finn
There are a number of board members that have been through this and I can only sympathise.
It seems that once one has gone then it causes the other to go in sympathy !
He will be getting the traditional procedure. My vet does not use fishing line, instead she uses stainless steel wire.
This is the only procedure she does, and the other knee is doing great. If I wanted a different procedure, or a second option for that matter, I would have to go to Puerto Rico or the states.
Thanks everyone for the good thoughts! Will update when I get him home on Saturday =)
