    DefaultNoraml or Overly Hyper?

So Aspen and I had our 2nd puppy class yesterday. Last week after going we went over to a friends and went for a walk and Aspen played with my friends dog. This week we went straight home. Now the instructor kept saying that dogs always pass out after puppy class. I figured Aspen didn't last week because i just kept her going, but I thought maybe we would get home and she would be so tired and just go to sleep. Not Aspen, puppy class made her the most hyper i have ever seen her. She was jumping around the house so i took her outside and for like 30 minutes straight she ran laps around the yard. I mean i don't mind other than she got hold of my hand thinking it was the frisbee and well that hurt, but I've never seen her so hyper. She looked like she was on crack or something. I know different puppies act differently but i was expecting her to be exhuasted and she was the complete opposite. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this... Thanks

Ohhh yes. The "I'm on crack" look. Very familiar with that. She'll grow out of it, but I do remember how exhausting that stage was!

Thank you both. I've never had a dog before and i feel silly asking all these questions but I just want her to have a healthy happy life so I just feel the need to ask questions! Thanks. And yes this age is very exhausting but when she isn't being a terror 75% of the time she is being sweet 25% of the time. It's still worth it.

Sounds to me like Miss Aspen got herself overtired!

    Perfectly normal evil lab-baby behavior!

Oh so she was overtired. So like a kid that fights sleep, she fights it by running around like a fool...interesting. Thanks

Sounds like normal puppy behavior. I always said they are the "wild child" at a young age. Thankfully, they do grow out of it.

Another question. What age did yours start to calm down? I know they say Labs stay puppies for about 3 years, so is it going to take that long or is gradually going to happen to where they arent so crazy?

My Nellie who is going on 11 can still be a wild child but it is few and far between these days.

Normal puppy...Gracie had that much energy and more. I was so exhausted the first year of Gracie's life. She never got tired. She is almost 2 and still has her moments but they have def calmed a bit. Be patient this to shall pass.
