    DefaultFanny getting old and arthritic

Now I will admit she is spoilt. Not a surprise.

With her hips being bad there are times she has to be helped onto the bed. There are times she has to be helped just because she is lazy. Yes, our bed - I am quite happy to leave her on the floor when she can't get up but SU feels sorry for her. To heck with not having enough room!

Anyhow, this past couple of weeks she has been asking to be helped up there more often. She will be 8 in October, still young I know, but it is scary to see her age.

The consolation? We are gimpy together, I hurt as much as she must on occassion so we pop our pills together and have a nap! Up on the bed,of course!

Nothing wrong with needing a little help now & then. A nap in the bed is always a good idea. Good thoughts for your girl.

At least you have someone to commiserate with. With our girls, our bed is their bed. I wouldn't have it any other way.

There is nothing wrong with the dog in the bed. My husband hates it but me on the other hand he is like my real live teddy bear. We ended up getting a king size bed just bc of Toby. Oh and what is it with their ears, they are just so soft. I just rub his ears while I go to sleep bc of howsoft they are. Has for the arthritis, have you tried upping the glucosomine. I hope something gives in for her and maybe its just the weather. Best of luck

Thanks everyone. She doesn't do well on Glucosamine unfortunately. However, she is doing pretty good, I think it is just the weather and the extra water time she is getting.

She is lying on the couch snoring right now,........

Ernie is the same age and arthritic so I understand the feeling you have. It is hard to watch. He has a couch and allows us to sleep on the edge of his bed at night.

Glucosamine does nothing for Erns either. Only thing that helps are the monthly injections. Without these I doubt he could walk much at all. Swimming also helps and warmer weather.
