DefaultCappy: This is how us po'folks gotta do it!

Those of us who don't own our own have to go scrounge around for places to train. We had to do "alligator sweep" before we started.

Very cool set-up, except for the alligators!

Alligator sweep sounds a lot more intense and covers a much broader area than dangerous mushroom sweep!

Alligator sweep is kinda easy. All alligators equal "bad." I would not know a good mushroom from a bad mushroom if they hit me upside the head!

Nice challenging set-ups, Mark. Just hope it's not 104 there as it's been here when you have EM and other dawgs run those marks and blinds.

The planting I did at our main hunting property the first week of July has all been for naught. The 5" of rain over the first week following planting did me in. Last week It was obvious that I not only lost my fall crop, there was also the most prolific stand of water primrose ( Water Primrose ) you've ever seen in place of the sorghum and millet we hoped for.

Soooo ... the last three days were spent spraying a 3oz/gal mix of 41% Glyphosate over the entire area and then discing it back under this morning. I'll replant milo/millet combo in there tomorrow. Too late for early Teal but unless we get very early frost, should be ok for the late waterfowl season in November. btw ... it was 107 at 5:30 PM tonight when I was washing off the tractor. I'm too old for this farming stuff!

We have been setting up at 5:30 in the dark to start training at 6:00 a.m. or so and cutting it off after the temps get over 85 degrees. The heat is just deadly right now.
