    DefaultAila has her first owey!

So we were playing in the park the other day and Aila was running after her favourite ball and slid right on top of a broken piece of glass. This was not a small piece and it literally split the pad wide open. So off to the vet we went while trying to control the bleeding. The gash was so large and so far apart that they weren't able to stitch it and so they stopped the bleeding and cut away the torn tissue and bandaged it up as well as they could. My poor Aila now has to wear the dreaded cone of shame. However, she doesn't seem to think of the cone that way, she seems perfectly happy to wear it -- if something is in her way, she just knocks it over!

Here's a picture of her -- she does look happy.

    Owie! Sounds nasty.
I think that's the first pic I've ever seen of a dog that looked happy while wearing a cone! What a good girl!

Wow-she really does look happy with the cone on!! Java pouted incessantly when she had the cone on..she wouldn't even accept a treat. Just spit it out or flatly refused. Moka actually enjoyed her cone also...it was in the winter and she figured out that if she stuck her head in the snow with the cone on, then lifted her head quickly she would get a cone full of snow, which she loved!! She looked ridiculous doing it, but she was having alot of fun.

BTW-Moka's best friend is a Giant Malamute named Aila!!

Almost forgot-hope Aila heals quickly, that sounds like a nasty boo boo!!
