I made a mistake in calculating when our Female Yellow "Miley" will be ready to come home with us. I thought it was next week, turns out I can pick her up this week.
Here is my question:
I plan to pick her up from the breeder on Thursday 6/10, and we are going camping this weekend. Will being at our home for a day, and a half then going away for a few days confuse Miley of where her home is? I plan on crate training her, so will she associate the crate as her home no matter the location? Either way she will be with us the whole time. I am just concerned about getting her training off to a good start.
A strange bit of info. When chatting with a friend about toilet training, they mentioned that they went camping with their new lil one, and he left weeing in the house, and returned house trained. I dont know the specifics of where he slept and how old he was, but he is a normal happy dog now.
Dogs bond to people - not so much to places. She'll be fine.

If I had a busy trip planned, I might check and see if the breeder could keep her for another week. I think I'd want spend as much time focused on her as possible in her first few days. That would just be my personal preference, though.
I agree with Connie (AngusFangus). Could you ask the breeder if you can pick her up when you get back from the trip?
I'd advise against taking her with you camping until she's had her entire series of shots. Too many bugs and possible viruses out there to which she might get exposed at such a young age. Unless you're in an RV and her crate came travel with? In that case, supervised potty breaks but mostly indoor time should be fine.
I agree. There will probably be strange dogs or people there, very scary as far as diseases etc go.
I'd ask the breeder to hold her until you get back.
