Well, it seems that the contest has closed. It does say at the top of the page that it closed 10/8, which is today. Apparently that really meant midnight last night, because no one was able to vote starting early this morning.
BUT! I wanted to thank all my JL friends for making an incredible showing! Angus missed first place by a mere 32 votes, with a final vote count of 593. That is pretty amazing folks! So, I thank you. Very much.
Rock on JL!
ETA: Seriously: I owe a big debt of gratitude to everyone here. Everyone was pulling for him SO HARD! Some of you were even doing things I was forgetting to do, like post in Odds and Ends or put him on facebook. LOL So many of you were trying to vote at every possible opportunity. All I can say is, thank you - it means a lot. JL is great.

I saw that. I tried to vote before I left for work today.
“If I know every single phone call you’ve made, I’m able to determine every single person you’ve talked to; I can get a pattern about your life that is very, very intrusive. And the real question here, is what do they do with this information that they collect – that does not have anything to do with al-Qaeda? And we’re gonna trust the president and the vice president that they’re doing the right thing? Don’t count me in on that.”

Sorry, I was afraid of that -- but it was a nice try.
