I've been told several times I should share stories and pics so I thought I would create a thread for me to do so. I just had my first funny story with Dytie. (Her name is tentatively spelled this way, so it may change).
Anyway, I work from home and Dytie has been hanging out with me in my office for the past 2 days. She likes to sleep under my desk. This morning I finished my coffee so I headed downstairs to get more. I called for Dytie to follow me since I try to keep her with me at all times to help prevent accidents.
My domestic short hair, Achilles, had been sitting in the hall watching us through the door. I walked through the room and Dytie stopped a foot from the door. Apparently she is afraid to pass Achilles. I decide to take a passive approach and I wait in the hallway to see if she will muster the courage to pass on her own. She lets out a couple of light hearted barks, but Achilles didn't budge.
Athena, my corgi, comes up the stairs to see what's going on and she walks in between Achilles and Dytie. Dytie immediately sees her opening and moves behind Athena's cover like a running back running behind his blockers. The whole scene was very funny. I wish I had recorded it.
LOLOLLL!!! I can see it perferctly!!! Sounds like she's fitting right in with you guys!
Our Yoshi cat would sit by the back sliding door and the dogs would not pass him to get in! Funny as hell!!
"Each is a creature of Earth and is entitled to reside on it with dignity"
lol. I don't have cats but with all the stories i hear seems like they're head of households!!
Right now in particular their is a lot posturing going on. Achilles is holding his ground. I feel bad for Apollo because he keeps running. I know Dytie will back down from him but he hasn't figured that out yet. I hope he does soon.
That is a funny story. No worries. They figure out their hierarchy on their own. My dog was afraid of my sister's cat when I first got him (the cat is a real witch to be honest) but after some time, they both started to respect their boundaries and we even caught the cat rubbing her head against Saba a few times.... of course if they could talk, they'd both deny it!
I would love it if the cats and dogs would actually touch each other. I see pics like that all the time and I get sort of jealous. My cats and my corgi get along by just ignoring each other. I assume that is how their relationship will be with Dytie as well, but I'm still hoping for a friendly relationship.
