I may adopt a lab today. I am curious as to whether or not this lab is the English or the American kind? She's the black one. What do you guys think of her? She is 6 months old.

You'll get a bunch of people here who will correct you about the terminology. What you refer to as "American type" is more properly called a "field lab" (and is taller, less blocky, leggier, and often taller) and the "English type" is a "bench lab" or "show type" (which is stockier and has a blocky head). But what you used are very common terms as well. Technically, all labs born in America are American; likewise all English labs are born in England regardless of body type.
That said, your little girl doesn't look particularly blocky to me, but I'm no expert. She certainly is cute, though! Are you adopting from a shelter or rescue organization? Good luck with her.
Oh, and welcome to the forum! If you do adopt her, you'll find this is a great resource for advice, and you'll definitely get asked to post more pictures and updates.
I found her on an ad on CL. I am going to see her today at 4 (west coast time).
She's pretty no matter if shes blocky or not.
I hope you have just as good a dog as I do, I got my black lab off an ad in Craigslist also, I couldn't hope for a better dog. As a matter of fact I found out about the ad off of this board about 5 years ago. Good Luck!
Thank you maus. I don't mind what she looks like, but I do prefer the American kind because I think they are smaller when full grown. (Am I right?). Either way though I just hope she is very fun and playful. Oh yeah, and she has to get along with my 2 cats. Crossing my fingers on that one.
she's pet bred

Size will depend more on the parents - if it is a concern I would ask them if they know the parents. Good luck!
