    DefaultBack home after TPLO surgery

    Good morning from California!

Haylee came home yesterday from her TPLO surgery -- had a difficult afternoon with her, but she finally settled down around ten last night. She had a fairly restful night and seems to be comfortable now. The surgery went well -- all routine stuff.

So, the recovery area is set up and we are settling in for the long recovery/rehab period. I feel so bad for my girl, but I know she will do OK. Not eating her regular food yet, but is loving the boiled chicken breast.

    Keep y'all posted!

    Nancy and Miss Haylee

Oh, glad to hear it went well. Recovery is so hard, especially that first day after surgery...it breaks my heart to see them that way! I'm sure you will have her nursed back to perfection in no time at all.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words of encouragement. She is doing well and we are seeing a little improvement each day. In fact yesterday when I brought her in from her bedtime pit stop, she came into the family room and proceed to try and butt tuck. Thank goodness I still had her leash on her. I told her we would have none of that. She scared the tar out of me.

So, she will get her sutures/staples out on Saturday and after a few days the vet said she can start swimming in the pool -- which I know she will love. Of course, we need to limit her time, but the water therapy will be good for her recovery.

That's it for now. I'll try to get some pics up. I'm off to church in a few minutes -- everyone enjoy your Sunday!
