Well, at least they are working their dogs. But looks like they are only testing CERF and Hips for genetics. Much more than those tests should be going on.

My Cappy is a SunnyView Lab. Richard Weiner and his son Matt operate the kennels and training facilities. They do very little advertising as all of their breedings are sold (well before the time the pups are 7 weeks old) to repeat clients and others by word of mouth only. I hate to admit this but I bought Cappy at 4 weeks of age as a sight unseen breeder's pick for me. I paid $1000 in February of 1999 and Cappy arrived in March. His father ... Nothing wrong with buying a puppy site unseen, if you trust the breeder! 8/10 of my puppies last litter were sold out of town, and the people didn't meet their puppies until they came to pick them up at 8 weeks.

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine has pre-paid for a yellow lab from there and is having some problems with the owners. They have "upped" the price on them. You would think that once you settled on a price that is what you would pay, but apparently when they went to pick the puppy up it was way more than expected. They had their heart set on him and the owners knew it. How can they back out now that they have seen their new addition???? They are in love and they owners just know it! I told them to tell the guy NO, we agreed on a price and that is what we are paying.

Did they sign a contract? I am in the process of adopting another lab that I have not seen yet either (only by pics). Though I still had to fill out a contract, and the price was clearly on there what I was paying for my puppy, etc.

I don't know. I will have to ask them. I'm pretty sure they said they did, but when they got there it was more money because of shots not being included, and then the actual day they picked the puppy up was changed by 2 days (which the owners agreed to) without telling them there would be an additional $300 charge and some other random charges. It all added up to over $500 extra. The owners never said anything at all about it. The shots were to be included.
