I noticed a change in Rocky's energy level last week. By 6pm on weeknights he's standing and staring at me, ready to go (we run from 4:10-4:50 so it's not like we haven't just gone out!).
I am very happy to have winter rocky back Summer Rocky is a bummer, HUGE drop in energy. He still gets plenty of exercise but he's ho hum about it for the most part and definately isn't jumping up ready to go out for more!
Anyone else see such a huge change in energy level in your pups?

Huge Tanya! Abby's been burning around the house the last few nights, as if she hasn't been to dog park in ages. Like you, I like to see the winter version of my dogs!
Me, Abzilla and the Helomonster.
Totally! Summer Ruby is a bummer big time! Winter Ruby is frisky and (Gasp) playful!

Yep - especially Emilu - she's been doing butt-tucks all around Skippy when we start out for our evening walk. Then it's retrieving in the pond, then digging for possums! What a night!
I dont like the cooler weather with my old boys, especially Indy...He's my arthritic old soul and Michigan winters are horrible...every year we pray he'll make it through another one...I love autumn but dread winter with him.
Mom to Indy 6/12/98 to 11/16/11 (always in my heart), and Jobe 8-14-2000 to 6/24/2013 (Working TDI) English Labs, and Annie our Golden Retriever (TDI), and Kodiak (who will one day hopefully be a TDI dog if he doesn't kill me first).
Yes!! In the summer she still has some pep in her, but she is definitely more laid back. Now that the temps have cooled, she is more raring to go that other times. Also with it being dark in the AMs now (our morning walks start around 6:30 AM), she was none to thrilled with having to wear her reflective vest. Without it you can not see her furry chocolate butt, so it is all about safety.
My pretty girl, Lexi!
Gracie's energy has really picked up too will the cooler weather.
Oh yes Tanya, me too!!!
Summer and Winter Simon are pretty similar, but there is an enormous difference between Summer and Winter Angus. It happens every year...just about the time I'm about ready to start ordering every blood test known to the veterinary profession, Winter Angus is back and I breathe a huge sigh of relief. LOL!
All summer, Angus makes these sad eyes, doesn't get up to follow me every time I leave the room, and will only fetch three times before he's ready to go in. Winter Angus is a different story...now I have perky eyes, begging for treats, following me everywhere and last night he played fetch for as long as Simon!
I so know what you mean.
