    DefaultZeus is still sick

This has been going on for over a month now and we still have no idea what's causing it. I think we've spent $600+ at the vet it's so frustrating. He was on Flagyl for 10 days and that cleared it up but within 3 days of being off of it he had loose stools again and was vomiting again. So he's been on Chicken and rice since Friday and a different medicine but he's still go the loose stools so we're going back to the flagyl again. They checked his stool and didn't see anything unusual there and they checked for any obstruction, his temp is normal, he wants to eat, his energy was normal and he wants to fetch but the last two days he has been laying around a little more. He hasn't vomited since Friday but he was licking his lips this morning and he woke DH up about 5am wanting to go out and he was eating grass then.

    Any ideas?

Has he had x-rays? Bloodwork? What else have they done besides meds and exams?

I think at this point, i would want an xray and full blood work up to see what is going on.
Unless, is there anything environmental he could be getting into?

I would go for the blood work too. It's amazing what things they can tell out of it.

    Good healing thoughts for Zeus.

If the flagyl worked, but he relapsed, you may want to try Panacur. I think Labby uses that for her dogs because the flagyl is not effective on her dogs. (Flagyl works great on my dogs though).

    Perhaps he has developed IBS?

They did x-rays last weekend to check for an obstruction and didn't find anything (other than they noticed he has pretty bad HD ) She mentioned doing the blood work the first time but wanted to see if the meds helped since it was an off and on thing then. She didn't mention it last time though I may call and see if they will do that. The Flagyl did work his stool was fine while he was on it and a few days after. We are feeding chicken and rice now but she wanted us to try a different food when his stools firm up again. I had switched his food shortly before this started so we're going back to what he was on before even though the food he's on now is one he ate for years before with no problem. She did a few different tests to check his stool for bacteria and parasites all that was normal.

Smeagol has been vomiting some too which makes things worse but it's just been here and there never more than once every few days. We have some meds for him too if we need them.
