    DefaultSurgery #9 for Buddy

THANKS to all who responded to this thread. I was hoping someone would tell me they have heard of something so large. I just can't believe it. We went for bloodwork today and the head tech asked me if I want to see it. I surely do. 7 more days. It seems like an eternity. Now that I know this nasty thing is inside him, I want it out right now. I will definitely post after I get him home next week. Thank you all so much again!

It's actually #10 if you count his root canals. But this is a very serious one and I'm scared to death.
Buddy has a million lipomas. 3x we have removed the really big ones. Recently,l I noticed one side of him seems to stick out a little more than the other and the whole area feels different that the other side. Oddly enough, it's the one area where he DOESN'T have any lipomas.
A few months ago, he had a stomach xray because he seemed to have gas or indigestion that was making him make horrid sounds like he was gagging. It stopped when I started giving him a little snack between his dinner and the next day's breakfast. Nothing showed on this xray.
I needed peace of mind so I asked the vet if we could do a sonogram. Well, sit down before you read the next line. It seems Buddy has a growth of some kind inside his abdomen that they claim is 12x8x4. Yes you read that correctly. It is not a typo. It is positioned in the shape of the letter "U" from his left side to his right. It is coming out Monday Oct. 12 and I'm scared to death. Has anyone ever heard of anything so large?
The sonogram tech said she didn't see anything that looked like cancerous veins running through it but we have to wait to biopsy it to be sure.
It is so large, they couldn't see his liver when they did the test.
I am also curious why something like this wouldn't show up on an xray. If anyone ever suggests an xray to me again, I am declining and going for a sonogram. I have no idea how long this has been in my dog but had I known when the xray was done, it would all be over by now.
Once again, I am calling on my lab friends here to say a prayer for my boy. I just lost my mother (9-7) and my oldest son signed himself into the navy for 6 years. I can't lose Buddy too.
    Thanks in advance
    Pam
