    DefaultTaking Angus to vet

UPDATE: All good news! No fracture, no break, a teeny bit of arthritis (in the unaffected/non limping foot) and that's it. Appears to be a soft tissue injury. Phew!

The really SUPER COOL news: Vet has digital x-rays now! OMG! These were so amazing. The quality is just unbelievable compared to conventional film. We zoomed in, out, looked all around. You can see soooo much detail. Incredible!

The vet said it was really a learning curve with them, especially for abdominal and chest x-rays: What they would have thought was serious disease on conventional films is just all the details they weren't used to seeing with digital.

I will definitely, definitely take the boys there if they ever need to be x-rayed for anything!

Good news on the fungal infection too: Regular vet also said it seemed to be clearing (other vet said this last week too). So, maybe if we can just rest his foot a little longer and let it heal, we can stay away from the vet for a while! I sure hope so!

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'm very happy! Glad I got the x-rays for peace of mind.

    ********

Well, I'm breaking down today and taking Angus in to have the vet look at his foot. He's still limping on and off. It's been two weeks, and I'm starting to feel like a bad mom. I would think it was getting better, then it would seem worse, then better. Just want someone to go ahead and look at it now.

He does seem like he feels OK most of the time. Last night I had him in the back, and when I wouldn't play fetch with him he jumped straight up in the air like Simon. NO ANGUS! You are not Simon! Geez...he's too bulky and heavy to do that. It was sort of cute, his little bid for attention, but it scared me to death when he did it. Simon leaps up and lands light as a daisy. Angus came down like a sack of bricks.

    well, wish us luck.

Is this related to the previous fungal (or whatever) infections on the feet?

Did you ever get a referral to UT's CollVetMed Teaching Hospital and get them seen there?
