    An online friend has a litter of 4 week old puppies. Purebred, Champion sired, mother is from a long line of Champions, all clearances on the parents etc.

    Well SURPRISE! 4 of the puppies in that litter were born with the expression of a LONG HAIRED gene.

    These puppies are absolutely 100% Labrador, and are unique in only that the gene has been expressed. There are probably a lot of Labradors out there that carry the long haired gene, but its not often expressed because its recessive.

    Anywho, without further ado, here are the cuties. Photos are posted with permission of course.

    Thanks for posting this. It IS very interesting!

    I wonder if they shed as much or as often as the traditional short haired Labs.
