Last weekend was a roller-coaster. Friday afternoon my family had to put our Abbey Beagle down. She was 14 years old, and starting on Thursday was getting really bad. Friday night I sat around with the family pulling out pictures of her and realized that she went everywhere with us. For 14 years she has been one of the family members and its hard to get used to the idea she isn't around anymore. And there was the comedy of crying over the gone dog, and then laughing over their new puppy as she tries to chew on your toes or gets stuck under the coffee table. Saffy gets along fine with the new puppy Franki, and we are taking them on walks together to socialize. Franki is getting braver and snuck up to try and attack Saffy's tail while we were out walking on Saturday. Very cute. Abbey was my first dog, taught me about dog love, and she also is the first dog I've ever lost. So overall, I miss my first dog, but I am thankful for my current girl. She went everywhere with me this weekend, even to the doctor visit out of town just cause I couldn't bear to be away from her. Not this weekend.
