She have always been, but yesterday she really saved me from getting hurt.
We had a wonderful walk by the river. We haven't been there for at least a couple of months and now the ground is covered of snow. Suddenly I slipped. The path had a thick layer of ice under the snow. I was flat on the ground trying to get up, but it was ice all around me and I just slipped more and more. The trail is just in addition to a slope down to the icy river. Emma had passed the icy area of the trail but turned around and came back for helping me when she heard I was in trouble.
I tried to get her to stay, but she didn't and slipped on the ice too and I took a grip around her to be able to keep her from sliding down the slope. I put the leash on her and she gave me a gentle support just to to slide off the icy area onto the safe path.
There are no houses in this area, and it can take a long time before anyone passes by (even tho we met a man and a dog heading that way about 15 minutes later). Emma saved me from getting more hurt than a little sore in my arm and leg. Not bad for a soon to be 14 year old dog. Thank you Emma, you truly are my hero .

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
