    Labs are NOT a large breed dog, regardless of what the dog food companies are trying to sell. Believe it or not, it's your choice but I do not appreciate your bringing me up time and time again.
    Would that be a troll or a stalker

    Good god. Now I've read everything.

    Labby giving misinfo that would harm a Lab pup...........

    Psheah. Right. Just soon after she flies to the moon by flapping her ears.

    After reading the 2nd post by you, Bob, it seems you don't want a debate at all. Your mind is made up. So why post this at all? I'm confused?

    The AKC is not inline with your thinking Bob...

    from their website

    The Labrador Retriever is a strongly built, medium-sized, short-coupled, dog possessing a sound, athletic, well-balanced conformation that enables it to function as a retrieving gun dog;

    They are a medium sized dog. Honestly Bob, if people do not take personal responsibility to check and double check the information on the internet that is no one's fault but their own. If someone gets a pup from a breeder, they should follow the instructions their breeder gave them. I personally don't feed, nor would I recommend a LARGE BREED puppy or adult food for a Lab.

    Just my two cents.......

    Labradors are a medium sized breed. Large Breed dog food isn't necessary, even for large breed dogs.

    BTW, the AKC just publishes the standards. It's the parent club, the LRC, Inc., that sets the standard for the Labrador Retriever.

    A lot depends on what the dog thinks he/she is. Jo came home to a house full of Chihuahua's, Shih Tzu's & Pugs. As a result, he was convinced he was toy breed.

    He was the constant lap dog & I used to carry him around as if he was one of the smaller ones. I didn't have the heart to tell him that at 36KG, he was supposed to act like a big dog.

    There's also a yellow Lab that comes into my work. She only weighs 20KG The owner said she was the runt of the litter (no kidding?) That dog is extraordinary small. Next time I see her, I'll get a photo & post it.

    Well, let's see. when they are playing bitey face under my chair, they seem enormous.
    When compared to other dogs, medium. I've been in training classes with danes, newfies, and other larger breeds. My boys look tiny next to them.
    And I think I would have to bow to the superior knowledge of Labby and the other breeders on this board. I trust their knowledge of the breed far more than any other opinion.

And the real question here, is what do they do with this information that they collect – that does not have anything to do with al-Qaeda? And we’re gonna trust the president and the vice president that they’re doing the right thing? Don’t count me in on that.”
