DefaultYearning for summer (3 DockDog photos)

Today is what we call pneumonia weather in Houston, cold and raining. I was looking through some photos from last summer and found these three taken at last summers DockDog event here in Houston. It was 108 degrees so the photos did warm me up a bit. Can't wait for the spring events as Duke will be recognized as a Veteran jumper and be ranked with other dogs 8 years old and up.

First, resting in the shade between waves. Duke is wearing his Lone Star bandanna.

Next, waiting for our turn on the dock. DockDogs set up shade tents for the line and I believe there were 47 dogs jumping in this wave. They broke us up into groups of 15+ so you wouldn't have to wait so long between the two jumps.

Finally, Duke launching off the dock. He really concentrates and keeps his eye on that bumper.

I've been to HOuston in the summer and I can relate! But I bet all those dogs had a great time getting cooled off in the water at the Dock Jumping! Where was the event held? Looks like loads of fun!

I never realized how tall Duke is! Great pictures.. staring out at the snow makes me wish I was there, too.

Where was the event held? Looks like loads of fun!
For the past two years the event has been held at Discovery Green Park, the new urban park in front of the George Brown Convention Center. I just wish they would have the event in October.

I never realized how tall Duke is!
Duke is the model for a field Lab, tall, lanky, and thin. His weight holds at 75 pounds. When people meet him at the dog park they are amazed that he is 8 years old. Here are a couple of photos I took spring and he really does still look like a puppy.
