    LightbulbCanesten Cream

A friend of mine told me she used Canesten Cream (for women) in her Golden's ears when he had a yeast infection and it worked like a charm. It was what her vet told her to use. I'd never heard of that. Anyone know if its safe? Obviously I'd never use anything on Dozer without first contacting my vet, and fortunately all his ears need now is ear cleaner, but I've been told because of the size of his ears and dirtyness to be on the lookout (sniffout) for yeast.

Yep. Like monistat, just a different brand.

Well, I believe yeasty ears are indicative of a poor nutrition issue, so I would be more inclined to address it that way.

That, and Baloo would be horrified to have "female" cream put in his ears. What would he tell his friends?

They can be due to nutrition, and often are, but not always. It can also be caused by moisture and heat.

LOL @ Baloo not knowing what to tell his friends. Hopefully he'll never have to worry about it.

Isn't that an anti-fungal cream? Can be used for athlete's foot, too, I believe.

I don't think I'd be putting that in Abbey's ears.. ever, but I guess to each his own. I'm going to stick with the purple stuff for now, though!

Bacterial infections yes, yeast issues are almost always diet related, in dogs and humans.

Basically you need to remove the foods that feed yeast simplistically speaking (also true for humans, I have a friend with candida issues who has done a ton of research in the area).

I didn't know that about humans, but it explains A LOT about an old friend of mine.
