The Christmas throwaways...
Twas two days before Christmas, and it was pretty quite on the rescue front. Some dogs had come into the shelter but weren't due out until after the holidays. I should have known that it wouldn't stay quiet. I received a phone call from a woman who had two "white" labs that needed to find a home before Christmas because she was moving to an apartment with her husband and her two kids and couldn't have them anymore. Oh, did I mention that they were a "breeding" pair, have AKC papers and both are three years old?
Well, I met the woman at my vet clinic who took them in until today. They were spayed, neutered, and heartworm tested as well as microchipped. Meet two of the sweetest labs we've had in a while. Jasmine and Shepherd.
Jasmine, always goes belly up when you go to pet her and is a little on the fat side:
And Shep, a mushy goofy boy that loves to give full face kisses to everyone:
Shep is at a foster's home in Burt, MI, which is over by Saginaw and Jasmine is here at my house with the boys...I don't think she knows what to make of Rookie. We were very excited until yesterday when the vet called and reported that Jasmine is Heartworm Positive. So, she'll have to go through treatment.
At any rate, these Christmas throwaways are headed toward a new year!
