    DefaultGetting Logged Out

It seems that after a being on here for a while, the forum logs me out. I've checked my settings, and I don't see anything to set for a certain time period with no activity getting me logged out. Is there anything I need to change, or what?

Have you ticked the "Remember Me?" box under your User Name & p/w on the log in page?

Yep. Do I need to do that every time I log in? Or just once, which I swear I've done before.

When it's done it before, I just figured no big deal and logged in again. But, today I twice typed out a lengthy reply to a pm, then when I clicked the submit button I got the window telling me I couldn't do it because I wasn't logged in. The first time, I lost the reply I had typed when I logged in. The second, I was smart enough to go back and save it in notepad first.

You only need to do it once.

What browser are you using? A friend of mine was complaining the other day about IE logging her out of her yahoo mail every time she tried to check it. I told her to switch to Firefox & it fixed it. Maybe you could also try clearing your browser cookies?

ETA. Just re-read the question. If you log out every time you go off, then yes, you'll have to tick "Remember Me" when you log back in otherwise if you're in the middle of a long post, then yes it will log you out. I never bother logging out. I just close the browser. Much easier.

This is one of my pet peeves. I am often logged off so always type even more quickly than usual before it does...hence all the typos.

If I post photos and photobucket is playing up as usual I do one photo, then edit and do the other.

On my Kindle fire it will log me out sometimes. I think it uses IE. On the desktop and laptop it is fine and I use Firefox.

I use Firefox, and I have it set to dump cookies and everything else when I close it. Also, I don't log out, I just close the browser or move on to another site. I'll try ticking the box whenever I log in, and see if that helps. Thanks for the help, Garth.

I have the box clicked. I don't need to log out as it logs me out if I don't post or read a post in a few moments. I have used google chrome, but mostly IE.

A few months ago it didn't log me out and for weeks I couldn't get in.
