I am a24 yr old gal with a fondness for large breed dogs. I work as a veterinary technician, as well as in a no-kill animal shelter, where I see all sorts of different types of dogs and cats.
I don't own a Labrador, but I DO own a Labrador mix named Hershey! He was adopted from the NSAL as a pup 5 years ago. A few months ago, Hersh had blood taken to determine his breed mix via the Mars Wisdom Panel. The results were very interesting and he is apparently a Cavalier KCS/Bloodhound/Flat Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever/Dalmatian/Shar Pei. All of that is a mouthful so I just refer to him as a Retriever mix! lol
And the cats!:
Brooke, 11 years old, rescued as a kitten from the streets of Brooklyn (hence her name)
Chloe, found abandoned on the side of the road with her kitten, in poor body condition and with an upper respiratory infection.
Maus, Chloe's son, who's not been the healthiest in his 3 years. He had a GI Blockage at 6 months, and was diagnosed with FLUTD after suffering 2 urinary blockages. !
Wow, you have quite a brood there! They are all beautiful.
Hershey is quite the combo!
A very warm welcome to the forum.
