Hey there! I'm Hollie, and we suddenly (though not by accident) have our great new bundle of black lab!
He's still earning his name at the moment, and is only seven weeks old.
Understand, as I blunder through the forums and post my freakout moments, I'm pretty new to having a puppy this young. I'm excited, but I'm very nervous, and I know I'll probably end up doing a lot of things wrong at first, so I'm here seeking your help!
Currently, I have a very large (for his size) crate, and I put some of my old clothes in it as well as a towel, and a couple of stuffed animals to help with the separation from his litter. I think I've jacked his schedule up though, because his crate is in the living room with me. There's not a lot of traffic in here at night, but the TV is on and such (I'm a bit of a night owl). I'm trying to keep him in a fairly open area while the cats adjust so they have room to hide and be comfortable. So far, so good, everything is pretty supervised, especially when the kitties approach. No hissing yet! That makes me very excited. They tend to just widen their pupils, sniff, slink by, and dash to their haven in the bedroom.
Any tips would be helpful! I bought a big bag of the goodlife recipe food for puppies, in the light blue bag from petsmart.
welcome to the forum!
we need pictures of your puppy please!
And just a bit of advice, place a divider of some kind in your crate to make the area available for your puppy only enough for him to turn around in. It will help with the housetraining. And then as he grows just move the divider accordingly.

Welcome to the forum.
Welcome! I'm also pretty new to the forum.
When I got Sammie I got a plush stuffed toy at Petco. She was 11th out of 12 puppies. I felt that it would help with the separation from her brothers and sister, too. Well, it did and she still carries it around at almost 2 1/2 yrs. But not the same one. I think she is on her 4th or 5th. I always have a new one waiting.
I also agree with using the divider.
Good Luck! They are so worth it!!!!
