    DefaultAnother Newbie

Hey everyone my name is Dave. I just got my first dog the other day and have been searching all over the internet to make sure i raise her right and i feel upon this site! Tons and tons of info here that i am sure will help me out! I am a full time EMT/Firefighter so i spend all the time that i can with her. BTW her name is Haylee, she is a chocolate lab puppy, about 7 weeks old now. Anyway here is a pic and i hope to learn much more from everyone!

Aaww, what a cutie! Welcome to the "zoo" Dave! Our oldest son is a firefighet in the Air National Guard. He hasn't been having any luck getting on paid position where he is (in the Poconos). He just went down to Maryland last week and took the civil service test for a position down there.

Thanks everyone. I think that i have found the love of my life with her She is doing pretty good potty training so far. When is a good time to start with basic dog training and such? I am not sure how to even go about training... I just know that i can not stand dogs that do not mind there owners and i am more then willing to spend all the time i need with her...plus she is adorable . Any help will e greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum Dave. I believe there is an actual training section - plus lab chat can always offer suggestions and ideas.

Welcome from WI; great to have you & Haylee on the board.
Congrats on your new little one - they are so much fun, but grow so fast!
She's such a cutie; can't wait to see more pics of this little cutie.

Dave, it's never too early to start training. I don't mean intense stuff like heel, etc. Just simple things like the house rules, sit, down and her name. If you can find a puppy kindergarten class in your area, go for it!
