I posted about a month ago when my dear, sweet Magic died of cancer. Thanks so much too all of you wonderful folks who expressed your sympathy! I'm not sure I'll ever love a dog as much as I loved her!
We adopted a new Labbie this weekend. Her people were moving to an apartment and seemed in a hurry to get rid of her (first question to me: When can you pick her up?) I felt like I needed to take her so that she wouldn't go to just anybody! She is a sweet baby and well behaved. (I'm afraid she's going to be a jumper, though. She's already trying to find a way through, by, or over the gate to the family room.) She's 14 months old and is having a blast with us, our 3 kids and our Husky (who's not sure what to think about this--she was enjoying being an "only child.")
I've been a Lab lover for a long time. Magic was my first dog since I grew up, but my brother raised and trained labs for field trials. He had the most brilliant chocolate and sweetest yellow and rather dopey black back at my parents' home. I just love the Labbie's happiness and enthusiasm for life!
Cheers to all,
