I rescued Riley (Yellow Lab) 3 months ago. He is 6 months old now. Training is going well. He loves to fetch his Kong ball in the backyard, go for walks, steal my sock, get the papers out of Grandma's trash and grab grandson's toys. Minor problems and major enjoyment (if that is a word). Enjoy this forum, have already learned some thengs. Will post pictures later. Keep the good info coming.
I misspelled things. Oh well typing is not my strong suit.

Hi there and welcome! My boy was a rescue too. Much older than yours though... but I rescued a yellow lab mix about 5 or so years ago. She was 6 months old... and let me tell you she kept me going forever and ever! When I moved from NY and got married I had to give her away which broke my heart. She was 1 and a half years old. So Baxter was a promise from my husband. He remembered all too well how Emmy was and even has a small scar on his nose from her. She of course didn't mean to do it just overly excited. But this guy... he's like 100% opposite from her. She wanted to go go go he wants to sleep sleep sleep it seems. He doesn't even have ANY intrest in toys either. Not even a tennis ball! He is very mellow. So even though I am new here and my lab is 4 I have been down the puppy route before. Just be patient and train as much as possible for your sanity!
Hi there. Welcome to the forum! I'm also in Central Illinois. I have a 7 1/2 month old Yellow Lab named Ranger. He's quite a character!
Welcome to JL! I used to be in Central IL, but now I'm in NH. Looking forward to seeing some pics of Riley.
