    DefaultHello from Connecticut

New forum member here, I have been lurking for a few weeks now. I don't have a lab yet, but I have put a deposit down on one with a breeder. So hello.

I should be getting the puppy a while from now. The bitch is not in heat yet, and is a younger dog so is not regular.

Well just for curiosity sake, how old is the bitch?
There are tons of people and breeders on this board who can give you very good advice about getting puppies. Before you commit to an untried and from what it seems very young bitch, I would definately do more research. There are a lot of backyard breeders out there that are willing to breed any of their dogs for quantity and Money rather than the quality of the puppy they produce. Labby has a ton of information on her website. Here is a link to one of the articles:

    www.kelrobin.com

If you have any questions about getting your puppy or what you should look for you have come to the right place! This is a very active board with TONS of people who are active within the breed and show/compete their labs. Welcome!

Thank you Getshell for the great advice. There sure are some people just looking for a buck out there.
