We are new to this forum. Dakota (Dak) is an one year old black lab.
We live in Suwanee, Ga during the winter months and spend our summers in a small cabin in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Dak was a gift to me last Valentine's day. I did not partically want a dog as I am a cat person. 2 siameses and 1 silver persian. I thought quite frankly i had little time for a lab. We had a lab maybe 20 years ago. Once she was grown she was a pretty good dog. But her puppy years were very distructive. She ate chairs and a couch. And anything made of plastic. She was a yard dog. Now I do understand the importance of exercising the dog and Dak has never destroyed anything. In fact he still has his very first stuffed animal, a purple cow. It is a little worned out, two legs are missing and one horn is gone. But he still loves it and al the rest of his "babies". Dak loves his walks, loves to play ball. And mostly staying by my side 100% of the time. (almost to the point it is annoying). Dak loves to swim in our pond and in the river that flows by our cabin in colorado. Labs are quite amazing.
Can't wait to see some pics of that boy!
Welcome Welcome from NC.
Sounds like Dakota is a real sweetie. Can't wait to see pics of him and his all his labby stories ;D
This is Dak and our female dobie Hillie. Dak and her are very close and will play grab a** all day long. Dak constantly tries to give her the ball but she has no clue as to what to do with it. Of course this is a pciture from last spring, Dak is slightly larger now maybe 70 lbs or so larger. Hillie is maybe 10 years old. I say maybe as we have no idea how old she is as she was already grown when we got her. More stories and pictures to come.
that is if the picture does indeed post!!

I thought I was a cat person for life. Then a beautiful black Labrador Kassa came into my life and I am hooked for life.
I agree. Labs are amazing. Life without one would be so empty.
I hope you enjoy your time here.
Welcome from WI; great to have you on the board.
Love the name Dakota; he's a cutie!
