I have a yellow lab named Bullwinkle who just turned 1 near old in December. I got him from the Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue. He lives with our family of 4 and my sons german shepherd mix, Rocky and my husbands White German Shepherd, Boris. He has had an on again/ off again front leg limp problem. It comes and goes every few months and lasts for a week or two at a time. So far the vet hasn't found anything that might be causing it. He is also still squatting like a girl to urinate. Are labs late bloomers in lifting their legs like a proper male dog?
Hello and welcome to the board!!
Bullwinkle sounds so sweet, I hope we get to see pics of him,and hear all about him ;D
I hope he can get rid of the limping - poor thing. As far as squatting like a girl, has he been neutered? I know of quite a number of neutered males who just never learned to hike their leg. Or maybe it's not a learned behaviour lol, whatever it is - they always squatted even when they were 2 and 3 yrs old. So I'm not really sure about that.
Welcome to the board though!
My Eddie was about 14 months old when he started lifting his leg. Sometimes they don't according to my vet.
