My name is Robin and we just brought an adorable eight week old yellow lab into our home. We've named her Lexie and she melts my heart, she's a joy.
This is my first time with a large breed dog. I've been lurking on the forums and reading several books for the last month trying to absorb all I can about labradors and puppies in general. My SO had a lab mix when he was younger and was the driving force in our getting a lab of our own. I have to say thank you to everyone who posts here, please know how many people you reach with your wisdom and how appreciated you are.
Lexie is doing great...She's so good with her crate and she's doing terrific with housebreaking. We're working on biting and chewing, but I know that this will improve with time and loving reminders.
I teach web development and computer applications, I love taking pictures, I have two cats (who are doing great with the puppy), and thirty something hermit crabs, yes, I said hermit crabs.
I've started posting Lexie's pictures (and silly stories) on my photo blog, you can see them @ http://www.tinkertech.net/blog2

She's beautiful. Hello from Birmingham, England!
Awwww what a sweetie pie Lexie is!!! I feel the same way you do about this forum. Reading everyone's questions and advice was the best preparation I could have had in bringing Ender home 2 months ago. Now since you said you enjoy photography, be prepared... we are going to want a LOT of pictures on a regular basis of your darling girl
