Thanks for accepting my registration! I have a 5 year old female yellow lab "Pepsi" who is the queen of the house, so easy going and gentle, we lucked out she is really THE best dog! We've had her since she was 8 weeks old and is the first dog I've ever owned.....so she is a little spoiled.
Recently we've committed to bringing a new puppy into the house, another yellow lab! The puppies are just 3 weeks old, so we have some time to prepare. A little nervous about this so I wanted to join this group to read others experiences and also ask advice since it's been 5 years since we've had a pup in the house! I know we're in for a handful, especially juggling new puppy with the older lab, 3 cats, and 2 kids!!
Appreciate this site and the help it will offer!
Welcome! I'm new here also. I don't have experience adding a pup with an existing dog, but I do have 3 kids. The biggest thing I've noticed is that I have to train my kids on how to play with a puppy and how to enter a room so that they don't get nipped by the puppy. Not sure how true it is, but I have heard that it is easier to train a puppy when you have an older dog there to model the behavior. Good luck!
