    UnhappyTorn ligament

Our five year old (active) lab has torn (not ruptured) his right ccl limps only at night after a long day so he is now on two week restrictive duty (per our vet). Anyone have any experience dealing with this type of injury? Is surgery the only option? Vet is recommending a "wait and see" before opting for surgery. Any other input - thank you!!

Yes. My lab just had the surgery in May. We tried the restrictive activity first, but it did not get any better. It really depends on how bad the tear is. Rocky's turned out to be a 75% tear. He really needed the surgery. Recovery period is annoying though, but he is walking better so far.
