We have a new 8 week old chocolate lab ( been with us three days). As is to be expected she is rather fearful of her world and will need some time to adjust. My sister has a three year old black lab. Her lab is not trained, has really high energy and is very alpha. She would like to visit us this weekend with her dog. I'm not entirely sure I think this is a good idea. Thoughts?
Just tell her that the pup hasn't had enough shots yet for a visit.
great idea-no hurt feelings-thanks
agreed. a good reason (and valid). I would not want my dog meeting that dog until it had been first socialized with MANY other friendly safe dogs.
In the meantime, look up puppy classes with a good reliable school that disinfects and keeps puppies safe. they are for puppies 8 week or older. good place to meet other dogs in safe controlled environment.
Our puppy Avalanche did not meet our daughters lab until we had had him for over 3 months due to us getting him all of his shots. Everyone loves a puppy and understands being protective of our little fur babies!
