I'm new here. Proud parent of a 7 yo black lab and 5 yo yellow lab. Love them to death!
Recently the yellow lab, Macy (85 lbs.), chased a cat off the property and injured her ACL. Any advice? Surgeries? After care?
I live in rural PA. Not the most cutting edge technology around. She's a mover and a shaker AND a real hard head. Hard to keep settled. She's been on Previcox for a week with rest and restrictions but not really any improvement.
I'm thinking of Tightrope surgery with an ortho brace for support and to take load of the good leg????.... Or TPLO (but not sure if my vet does it). Have a call into him...
Any advice? Also curious in the cost... use of slings, vitamins or sedatives.

I would see about a specialist, an you find someone in Philly, even if it's a drive? Tightrope surgeries can fail and you may have another operation in your future. I have done TPLO's and they've lasted...outlasted the dog in fact.
University of PA Animal Hospital. Great facilities.

Wishing you all the luck with your Macy. Hoping you call and get some great feedback for your baby.
