    Questiontri factored liter

How rare is it to have yellow, chocolate and black pups in one liter?

not rare. most breeders know what colors their dogs carry and can predict what colors can occur.

I wouldn't say it's "rare" but most chose not to do it very often because of the chance of chocolate pigmented yellows. They can't be shown and murphy's law would dictate that your nicest puppy (the one you want to keep to show) would be a dudley

Agreed, not rare, but usually not desirable.

Probably rarer now that we have color gene testing available. Most of us choose to avoid having all 3 colors in the same litter, though "tri factored" (from a carrying standpoint) should not be an issue to anyone.

The dam and sire were both black not mixed colors although each have different colors in their bloodlines . There was no color issue among the pups. Appreciate the input.
