Hi all ,
We are the proud parents of a 16 week old ,very adorable, Chocolate Lab named Nike. This is our first Lab , we have always owned larger dogs in the past including Newfoundlands and a English Mastiff. Nike is a giant ball of energy and trouble and we are enjoying every minute of it . He has 1 older Newfoundland sister named Eris. She is 10 and tries very hard to be patient with , but puts him in his place when she needs to. He also has 3 Cat friends. One is 14 and does not take any "puppy crap" . The other two are pretty young and Nike thinks they are definitely his personal chew toys ( we are working on that..sigh). Other than cat chasing and chewing hes doing very well with training , housebreaking was a breeze.. we have got, sit, stay, lay, heel and come down. He's a lot of fun to train and just a great pup all together. I look forward to chatting with you all and learning all that I can about the breed.
Welcome! I love Newfies, one of my favorite dogs after Labs. I can't wait to see pictures of your Nike, a Lab puppy is so much fun and exasperation rolled in to one big ball!
