Greetings all from Alabama,
I recently got my first labrador retriever puppy. He's a 7 week old black ball of energy and has been learning quickly . He's the first dog I've raised alone and so far he's been great. I chose the labrador retriever for my first dog because I'm very into the outdoors, love the temperament, and don't have the experience to train a more "difficult" dog like a german shepherd.
A little about me - I'm a 20-something aerospace engineer (got my BS from the University of Alabama, Roll Tide) who grew up right outside the St Louis area (love my blues, rams, cards). I'm entering the USAF this summer as a student pilot, and am really looking forward to that.
I'm excited to learn from everyone and hope I don't make too many mistakes raising the little guy. Thanks for this great resource and I look forward to discussing all my "newbie" mistakes with y'all.
welcome! he sure is cute!!
Thanks! His name is Gunther.
Welcome! He sure is a handsome little guy.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
What a cutie! Nice to meet you, and thank you in advance for your service. My son is in the AF, he's currently stationed at Rammstein, Germany.
