Hey guys, Well I'm new to the forum, I have what I believe to be two Lab Puppies, I don't know if they are Mixed or Purebred.
What do you guys think?
Wow - Guatamala ! That's a new one - welcome ! Gorgeous pups !
If they are both yours then you will need advice on bringing up litter mates if that's what they are !
It's not the same as bringing up one puppy but forgive me if you already knew that !
Thank you!! no I did not know that thanks any advice?
The main thing is that they need seperate training and bonding with their owner so that they do not bond with each other initially otherwise you will have two unruly puppies !!
Lots more reasons but feel free to ask questions as you bring them up !
You have two cuties!! I am thinking mixes but I don't know.
Thanks MidwestGirl and Thanks for the info Samson, I do have a question, there is an Older male in the house he is a different breed but it seems like my puppies follow him around and should I worry that they might see him as Alpha?
Thank you Dek! The photo is actually from aprox 2 months ago, They have grown a little.
They are VERY cute! I would say Lab mix.
One of the issues with having 2 same aged puppies (and they don't have to be related to each other for this to matter) is that one will develop as the leader of the pair and the other will have a really debilitating dependancy on him. It's critically important that they spend a good portion of the day apart - sleep separately - get walked separately - trained separately. They need to become individuals - not 2 parts of one whole. Its a LOT more work than just having one puppy, but the time you invest now will make them better adult dogs.
I would not worry about the older dog - it's good to have a well behaved older dog influencing a puppy. So, unless this 3 year old dog has behavior problems, I would allow them to spend time together.
Sharon, Blaise and Diesel.
Thanks 'BigBrownDog' This is new to me, I sure will follow your advice, -
We got these puppies from a neighbor, so we don't know exactly how old they are but they are aprox 4 Months old, but by looking at other pictures, should these puppies be bigger? and Snow the female on the left looks healthier then Max on the right, in reference to her Coat, His looks different not as healthy in my opinio, but I am no expert, They're my first puppies.
So I do need a lot of advice and help taking care of these guys.
