    DefaultHello from Eastern Oregon

    My name is Kim.
We have always had labs. Nicki was our first black lab baby, we lost her 8 years ago at the age of 11 to cancer. We then got our yellow boy Ruger who was followed shortly by our chocolate boy Mo. We just recently lost our Ruger to cancer (again ). It was super tough, as losing your companions and friends always is. We underestimated the effect and sadness it would bring to our Mo....Mo is the most sensitive dog I have ever met. Sooooo, we just yesturday committed to bringing another black girl home in about two weeks. Yay!!
My son and husband are both duck and pheasant hunters and cannot wait to start training and working this new addition.
With 4 of us in our house you can imagine how hard it is going to be to come up with a good solid female name....any suggestions would be helpful!!

Hello from Western Oregon! Welcome to the forum! I am sorry to hear of your losses. We lost our fox red in May 2011. It was sudden and devastating. She was 12. We then started looking for another one... I remember thinking I just wanted the pain to stop. We found Sophie, actually in your neck of the woods, in Bend. We brought her home at 8 weeks. She has been a joy. We named her Sophie before we brought her home. I liked the name from the movie Mama Mia, plus I always thought Sophia Loren was a class act. We came up with her fancy-schmancy name for her papers once she came home. I bet you are so excited to bring home your baby girl! We will want lots of pictures!

Feel sort of silly giving out welcomes here, I just joined myself a couple days ago. Everyone has made me feel very comfortable and welcome. You'll love this site. As for names..........I'm thinking of adding a black lab sister for my chocolate Jack. I want so bad to name her Marlo. My husband thinks Jill. Jack and Jill, a certain simple charm in that. But a black female lab named Marlo.....hmmmm

Hello and welcome to the forum. So sad to hear about the loss of your second boy. Was he just 8 or did you get him as a rescue. Mo will probably be happy to meet the new black girl. Is she a puppy? Might make him feel old... lol. Good luck with your adjustments. We are anxious to see photos of them all.

Yes sad but true. Ruger was just a young 8yr old, we brought him home at 7 weeks. Cancer doesn't descriminate Praying to see Mo and our new pup grow to ripe old ages.

Pics to come this weekend of the new addition
