Red faceMy new puppy Bilbo :)

Hi everybody! I've been coming to this forum for help and tips over the last couple of weeks, and figured I might as well join

Bilbo is my first ever dog, and I'm determined to gently mould him into a mild mannered, loving labrador. He's already over half way there at 13 and a half weeks, he is the friendliest puppy at our training class by a country mile! (Although this friendliness can make him very distracted when I'm trying to give him commands haha).

I thought I'd just pop in and say hello, here are some pics I've taken over the past couple of weeks (I got him on the 2nd October).

Welcome to the forum. Yes he is a handsome boy and you will enjoy him so much. Watch he does not swallow things. They will try to swallow everything.

Thanks guys! I've been watching him constantly, and he goes into a crate at night when we're in bed. He's been brilliant with regards to the whole chewing thing though. We taught him straight away what he could chew and couldn't by saying "no!" when he bit anything he shouldn't and immediately putting a toy he could play with into his mouth, which seemed to have worked! The lady we bought him off said his mum and dad weren't chewers anyway, so we might have got lucky! I still watch him constantly. Anyway, he's come back from his walk now so I'm off to bed. Goodnight! x

Hi guys! A little pic update from our trip to Aberystwyth in Wales over the weekend

Asleep on the car journey (no idea how I got such nice light levels, such a flukey pic!)

As you can see, he loved the beach, although I think the sea was a little intimidating, haha! He's growing so fast, but loving every second of it

Great Photos. He is having a great time. Watch when he runs with long sticks like the one on the beach because sometimes when they get them turned around and pointed into the mouth the end of the stick hits the ground and their momentum will drive it into his mouth. Ouch.... Jack has done this a couple of times so now I do not allow him to have sticks like that. Just an FYI. Enjoy him.

Thanks! I do try to discourage sticks, but he seems to have a natural urge to grab them! I let him play with this for 2 secs and took it off him in favour of his rope toy At least it was soggy from being on the beach, so it was less 'splintery', but still I need to install a blanket ban on the things!
