This is Duke. He's a 9 year old chocolate that we found in a local animal shelter when he was just about 2 years old. He had a rough beginning to his life....in and out of various families...in and out of the shelter....
He had been there for months and was getting ready to be transferred to another facility when we came in. He smushed his nose through the cage and tried to lick my hand....and Vincent's entire face ( he was 2 at the time). Right there...we kinda knew he was coming home with us.
Flash forward 7 years, a cat (Maxwell) ...and new puppies (Yoshi and Momo)...Duke is entering his golden years with grace and aplomb. That is, until he was diagnosed with cancer (malignant melanoma). Like most woofs his age, he's slowed down and prefers to survey his domain from his spot on the rear deck. He doesn't play with the pups but tolerates them jumping all over him...
He's fighting in his own way...
beautiful photo of one handsome boy. sorry about the diagnosis but good thoughts he has a few good years left wtih you!

He's handsome! I am so sorry he has that dreaded disease. My heart goes out to you, your family and sweet Duke. I am thankful you rescued him and have given him such a wonderful life. I pray he fights this and you have lots of time left with him.
