I am not yet a lab owner, my puppy is still with the breeder and will be for two whole agonizingly long weeks! I've only had smaller dogs (toy poodle, chihuahua, terrier) before this and my husband grew up with pointers and jack russels and while both of us have known people with labs, we've never had one of our own. All of our research kept leading us back to labs as the dog we want and we finally reserved a puppy with a breeder about a week ago.
We've been by a couple of times to visit (it's just over an hour away from us so we can't go more often) and this is a pic of her yesterday:
We're planning on doing obedience training as well as field/hunting (maybe!). Anywho ... it's nice to meet you all!
Congratulations. Looking forward to more pictures !

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
she's sweet! Welcome to the forum.
If dogs do not go to heaven, then I prefer to follow them where they go.
Welcome from Molly's Mum too! Yes, they sure are terrors! Our Molly has been home for two weeks now and is still a little monkey but we're gradually getting to know her and her little ways. It is hard to be patient but the love saves the day always. I have found this forum to be so helpful and the old-timers here are wonderful - answering all my newbie questions with patients and understanding!!!!
