Hi. I just rescued a Chocolate Lab, her name is Sofie Ann. She is a beautiful dog, and as soon as I can get some pictures uploaded I will post one. She is my second Lab, my other was a black Lab. I lost her 3 years ago. It was very sudden and I was devastated. At the time I had a cat who came to my rescue and was a great comfort. I lost him a little over a month ago and now have my Sofie Ann. She did not replace my cat (Bailey) or my other Lab (Morgan) but she is now in my heart forever. As I said she was a rescue, and had 10 puppies. She was brought to a shelter still pregnant with the pups. A rescue group got her and took care of her and the pups. They said she was only 38 lbs when the got her. Poor baby. She now weights 61. She is somewhat of her baby herself, I believe she is just over a year old.
The rescue group was told the owner did breed her so I don't understand why they let her go. The puppies were all black, and were quite sick as you can imagine since she was so malnourished. But the kind people of the group nursed these puppies and mama back to health.
Sofie Ann is a super good dog, she is calm, and well mannered. I love her very much.
I am looking forward to meeting new Lab lovers here!
Welcome! I can"t wait to see pics of your Sofieann!

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
Welcome to the forum. You did a good thing rescuing her! Will be waiting for some photos.
If dogs do not go to heaven, then I prefer to follow them where they go.

My Avatar is a picture of my Sofie Ann. I am still learning how to get pictures to upload. More pics to come!
Welcome. Firstly thankyou for giving Sofie Ann a forever home. Poor thing...... she is just a baby and she has gone through a lot. That is just so sad that she had those puppies. Since she was malnourished one has to wonder how healthy those poor puppies will be. Please let us know if you find out anything about those puppies in the future. The folks that adopted the puppies may be in for heartache. I hope not. Those poor little puppies deserve to have a great life as well. People make me absolutely sick. Good Luck with your new girl.
