DefaultWaiting to see if breeding took.

Will know in 10 days. Have been without a lab for 2 years and miss having a wonderful dog nearby. If all goes well, we should have our new friend around Sept 1st.

Just a quick question, I am assuming you are dealing with someone who breeds dogs; you have made sure you are dealing with a reputable breeder who has done all the proper health clearences, breeds for temperment and the betterment of the breed and proves their dogs in some sort of venue, right?

We are in charlotte NC. I retired a year or so ago, so will have pleanty of time to spend with the pup. The breeder is very reputable and has been showing in conformation and obedience for several years and is quite active in the local Lab club.
Thanks for the welcome...where are you all from ?

Which Lab club? I'm from Columbia,SC and our new pup came from someone in NC that was part of a lab club, but also owned a duck hunting plantation here in SC. Who's the breeder?Maybe it's the same person.

The club is called the LRC of the piedmont. They are located near the NC/SC border. In my research, I recall a place in SC that you are referring to and the kennel name has "duck" in it but I cant recall the exact name. The kennel we are wait listed on is Wildwood and they are from Mocksville,NC. I sent a request to several on the LRC breeders list so I know that if this one dosent work, there will be others to pursue.

    Defaultquestion regarding underground (invisible fence)

I've had labs before but lived in the country and had 10 acres...lots of room and taught our dog at an early age where the boundaries were. after the first year...never had to worry ...but now we live in a sundivision and have less than an acre. Does anyone have any experience with the underground fence as a solution to keeping the lab contained ?
