My name is Barbara and I'm from Minnesota. We just got our lab puppy on Sunday. It's been many years since I've had a puppy in the house. Molly is the girl on the left in my avatar. As soon as I figure out how to upload photos from my camera I'll have more. She was 8 weeks old yesterday. So far we're working on wearing a collar outside (doesn't like that), no bite (very mouthy and those puppy teeth are sharp) and go potty. I'm looking forward to everybody's wisdom. My last lab was American and died 17 years ago of cancer. Molly is English. I'm wondering if I should be aware of any personality traits between an American and English. Off to read the puppy posts.

Welcome!! here is a link from Laura(labbys) website explaining the difference. English or American Lab?
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.

hi and welcome.
Where is MN? HK and I are in Minnetonka, and there are quite a few of us throughout the state.
Those puppy teeth are sharp and stay that way until they fall out, 6 months +/-. Best to teach immediately and with no exceptions, those teeth on human skin are not allowed. Offer immediate substitute toy.
Use Laura's page to understand the primary differences, but be aware that every one of our dogs are unique.
