Hi everyone, and hello from the UK. I am new to this forum and new to owning a dog, but at 45 yrs old I have finally given in to the pressures from my two daughters and wife and we have just bought a 1 yr old Chocolate Labrador. She's called Autumn and she was described by her previous owner as a 'failed gun-dog', as she wasn't very keen on retrieving shot birds!
Poor girl, slept in a cage outdoors, was under-weight and smelled real bad. She has a wonderful personality though and won my wife and I over in seconds.
She's now settling in nicely at home but we are still struggling to get her fully house-trained. Still coming down occasionally in a morning to a puddle of pee, but we will get there I am sure.
I have a couple of You Tube videos of her that you can see online at :-

Hi Steve, From a fellow UK-er
Autumn is lovely! The 'Autumn won't come in' vid made me LOL! Seeing her 'paw' at a door that wasn't there!
Welcome to the forum, there is a lot of good info here.
She's a beauty! I am so thankful you rescued her from that cage they had her in! Poor girl....just because she wouldn't retreive a bunch of dead birds, they just threw her away! That is so sad. She is lucky to have you!
